I’m very excited about having a go at my first all-grain brew and thankfully my Crafty Fox IPA kit from homebrewonline.com arrived this week!

So, whats in the box?

  • Bag of crushed grains (Maris Otter and Caramalt)
  • 4 small bags of hops (Simcoe, Cascade, Nelson Sauvin, Ahtanum and Chinook)
  • 1 packet of dried yeast
  • Instructions (most important for beginners like me)

There is also some equipment to get ready. I thought I had most of the stuff already, but did buy a cheap stainless steel stock pot and a sieve for draining/sparging the grain as per the video homebrewonline but up on YouTube.

In addition to the new purchases, I had the rest of the necessary items in my existing home brew kit:

  • Thermometer
  • Measuring jug
  • Stainless steel spoon
  • Trial jar and hydrometer
  • Glass demijohn
  • Airlock and bung

Check back soon to see how I get on!
